Big Al's Featured Car's
1952 Chevrolet Thriftmaster
Owned by Jerry & Phyllis Miller
Pictures by Buddy Scoville

My 1952 Chevrolet was originally purchased in West Virginia and eventually taken to Central Florida where it was totally restored by a Budweiser Beer Distributer. They painted it a bright Red and re-did all that massive chrome to a high brilliance! It was driven in parades as Budweiser advertising in Florida for 3 years. When it was advertised for sale a friend of mine Biff Specht from Painesville, Ohio purchased it and kept for about 10 ears.

When I heard it was for sale I went to see it and fell in Love with it. It was just like the truck that I had learned to drive in when I was a teenager working with my father in his lumberyard. I couldn’t wait to purchase it and add it to my other neat ride and did so in 2010. Biff had taken such good care of it during his ownership that it has no work needed on it.
It is still powered by a 215.5 cubic inch engine with a 3.5” bore and a 3.75” stroke with headers and an aluminum radiator. The transmission is a 3 speed manual sending the power to a 4:11 to 1 geared rear-end. It has 15” wheels all around.
Since then I’ve really enjoyed driving this truck and showing it off in area Car Shows and Cruise Ins. So far my “52” has won 3 Awards at Car Shows and the people seem to really enjoy seeing this piece of history. It’s a Great Truck in Great condition and I hope to spend many more years showing it with others who appreciate Classic Vehicles restored to original condition. A Big Thank You to Buddy Scoville for seeing my Chevy truck and thinking so much of it to make it a Featured Vehicle on Big Al’s List!
