1971 Nova SS

Our "71" Nova SS has been a lot of fun over the past few years. We drive it everywhere! It's been shopping, to work, to Thompson Drag Raceway ant to all the car cruises we can attend. I drove it to work so much last year that everybody was kidding with me about putting snow tires on it for the winter! It really is a great running car although it is not that fast. It ran a 14.62 at Thompson! I told my wife that I might do something about that this winter as our Corvette will beat it (13.97) but I might have to put a wood floor in our house instead - just kidding!!!
Our Nova is a 1971 350 cubic inch, 270 horse power with a small cam and headers along with a shift kit and 3:73 rear gears. It is a midnight blue metallic in color. In the past we have owned AMC, Mopar, Ford, Chevy, Kawasaki Drag Bikes and Harleys and we love them all. My father was always into cars and bikes as he owned two gas stations over the years. When I was in school I used to work at his stations part time and that's when I really started to like anything with a motor. Dad still rides his motorcycle! I also worked with John Kepich who moved to Florida. He's Famous for Packard Restoration, but does occasionally restore a Corvette or a Cadillac! I put some Stainless window trim on my Nova and I can see why I don't work with him anymore!!! Cruising is a lot of fun and I always take my camera with me and I love taking pictures of all the beautiful cars that all of you have and bring out on occasion for all to enjoy at the many Car Shows and Cruises.
One of the many joys that we have while Cruising is getting to meet new people and see some old friends that we have not seen for years is wonderful! Big Al has posted many of my pictures on his website and when he asked if he could use my Nova as a Featured Car of the Month I got in gear and did some real detailing! This means my daughter who helps me clean the Nova has really been busy!! She goes "VROOM" as she is cleaning and I know it's time to take a break and go for a ride! Being a family thing means that some days when I come home from work and see the Nova gone I know my wife is out with it and man can she handle that car! Maybe she'll race it yet this season! By the way, the last picture will show you how we feel, as our cars are "Red, White & Blue"!!!!!!!!!!!!
