1961 Corvette Convertible
Don Nosse
This sharp is custom from the word "GO". Don has owned this immaculate Corvette for over 15 years after he picked up the body and frame from a Newport Beach, California boat yard. It was originally done in a PPG Black before a "Hit & Run" Driver took the drivers front corner off the Corvette! Don decided at this time that he could make a few improvements on his car without having to look back and say "Oh, But it was all Original". You have heard the phrase "You can never go home again", well, that how Don looked at his Corvette! He had a few ideas on how to make it handle better on the corners and ride smoother on the highway.
Don started right at the bottom, with the suspension. He rebuilt all the moving parts after he added late model suspension front and rear from another Corvette! He then decided to bump up the horsepower a little bit and added an LT-1 350 Fuel Injected engine with a Six Speed transferring the power to the rear wheels which are Late Model rims covered with P 275/40R17 tread. The exhaust is all Stainless Steel and Don monitors the sweet little engine with all digital gauges.
Don also made some subtle changes on the outside like Custom outside door handles, a pair of late model rearview mirrors, an Fifty Eight Corvette Grille, all exterior stainless trim removed and added Billet inside door handles and Billet Valve Covers. He then carefully covered it all with Eighty Eight Rolls Royce Silver Sand Paint by Sickens. The interior was completely gone over and a Sony Explode Sound System was added with a Kenwood CD Changer to keep the Tunes coming. To keep the wheels straight on the straight and narrow he added a Budnik Custom steering wheel. Now that Don is done with the main changes he spends a lot of time hitting the Car Shows and Cruise In's.
