1964 Thunderbird Convertible

This Beautiful 1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible was purchased from the original registered owner in California at Geary Motors Sales Company in San Francisco and is loaded with all original equipment! An extremely nice example of a clean no rust car with 93,776 miles! In a rare color combination of Samoan Coral with black interior and black top, which has the electric opening and trunk lifting for a completely disappearing top! An immensely collectible convertible!! An all original 390 cubic inch 300HP engine with 10.1:1 compression ratio, and topped with a four barrel carburetor with a Cruise-O-Matic transmission and turning over the wheels after going through a 3 to 1 rear end gear ratio. It has been repainted in the correct enamel color code paint of L Samoan Coral. All of the body panels are original including the chrome and glass right down to the interior carpet which is protected by a set of reproduction Thunderbird logo floormats.

The black convertible top is a recent quality replacement. The engine compartment has been freshened up and detailed. Everything on the car works perfectly including the convertible top, power windows, and swing away steering column. The glove box contains documentation which includes a copy of the original title, the Ford Registered Owner Plan and Manual, plus some of the original service receipts. The trunk has paper work which includes A Thunderbird Restoration Guide, The 4 Passenger T-Bird, Electrical Assembly Manual, Ford Parts Book, Engine Assembly Manual, Power Accessory Manual, 1964 T-Bird shop manual, Find Any Ford - Parts Locating Guide! Data Plate information is as follows, Body - 76A, Color - L, Trim - 56, Date - Jan 16th., Axle - 1 and Trans - 4. The production figures show that this is 1 of 9,198 convertibles made, while there was only a total Thunderbird production for 1964 of 92,465 cars. The assembly plant was in Wixom in the District of San Jose, California and was built on January 16, 1964 and sold on February 21, 1964.
Chris has added a brand new set of Kelsey Hayes Tru-Spoke wheels and GoodYear Regatta whitewall radial tires but has saved the original wheels and original spinner hubcaps. The mechanical restoration of this beauty includes control arm and bushing replacement and wheel alignment, U-joints, rear leaf springs! The engine parts list includes cap and rotor, plugs, wires, ignition cable, fuel and air filters. Timing chain set and cover gasket, cylinder heads resurfaced and new gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, oil pan gasket. Complete brake and wheel cylinder recondition and replacement with silicone fluid. Electric switches replaced in front control console with New Old Stock parts. Gas tank and sending unit replacements were installed with New Old Stock parts. New hood insulation, belts and hoses were added to finish the updating.
