Fred Piluso's
55 Ford Crown Victoria
Fred's Beautiful 1955 Ford Crown Victoria made its way from the
Hawaiian Islands to California to Ohio where the Nosse Brothers,
Al and Don put the finishing touches on it for Fred. Having owned
many cars over the years like a Lamborghini, 63 Corvette, 51 Mercury
and a GT 350 H the Crown Vic is one of his favorite! This Pittsburgh
Pennsylvania born Vietnam Veteran ended up in the Waikiki Marketplace
area after trying his hand in the airline environment and settled
down with Scruples Beach Club which is one of the few nightclubs
that stay open until 4AM every night! Even after over 20 years
in the Nightclub business, Fred has held a love affair with the
automobile!
With Al and Don Nosse doing the work Fred has watched this Dream
Car come to Fruition over a 4 year period. It has been given the
honor of being a "Boyd's Pick" a "John Force"
award, and a "Meguiars" 2005 Sponsorship as well as
winning trophies and awards at many of the shows it has been featured
at. The 55 now residing in the Northeast Ohio area has been seen
at many of the local cruise's such as Solon Commons, Annabelle's,
Mr. Chicken & Quaker Steak.
Art Morrison built the custom 3" by 4" boxed frame on
a 120" wheelbase. Attached to this are Aldon Springs &
Shocks with a 2002 Morrison front end while the back end is tied
to a Ford 9" rear end. The spindles are also Morrison with
Wildwood brakes in the front with Ford Disc in the back. These
are holding Custom Wheels covered with Coker tires which grip
the road when the power from the 2003 Ford 460 cubic inch motor
with a pair of Holly 600's covered with a Hand Air Cleaner push
the fuel through a Blue Thunder manifold past a roller cam with
roller lifters onto pistons with Dog Leg Rods. This Ford SVO built
motor also has Ford Racing valve covers and Doug's Headers. From
there the power is controlled by a 2003 Centerforce Clutch in
front of a 1964 Ford Top Loader transmission with a Hurst Shifter.
The Truly Custom body was built by "Burnt Karelson"
and used lead to smooth the gaps between body panels. Some of
the outstanding features on this one of a kind car are the Thunderbird
Grill, 41 Lincoln Push door openers, 55 Mercury tail lights, 55
Mercury Station Wagon front lights, 55 Ford Bumpers and then covered
with PPG 2002 Mandarin Copper paint.
The interior 67 Thunderbird Landau seats are done in tan leather
by "Keweii" while the Stewart Warner instruments are
set in a 56 Ford dash customized by Al & Don Nosse. The steering
column is Ididit holding an aluminum Budnick steering wheel which
is kept cool with a Vintage Air air conditioner.
