Jim Anderson's
"69"
Chevy Camaro Convertible
The ragtop was purchased on Mother's
Day 2004. It had been painted in 1991 with PPG Medium Brilliant
Red. In the spring of 2005 I pulled Small Block 327 cubic inch
motor and gave it to my friend Mike Farrell to totally strip down
and rebuild. WOW! Great turn around time, "just 3 weeks!".
Already bored 30 over with flat top pistons, Mike added a new
crank, Elgin Pro Stock Roller Cam pushing Hydraulic lifters, Holley
670 Street Avenger Carb, Edelbrock RPM manifold, machined Humpback
Heads, and Hooker Headers add the final touch to give it a sweet
rumble going down the road. A Turbo 350 Transmission with a 2700-3000
stall converter spins the balanced driveshaft to the 10 Bolt rear
end w/3:73 Positraction which turns the axles to Rally Wheels
with some B F Goodrich tires on them. Now living in Ijamsville,
Maryland, the ragtop enjoys weekend cruises to the local Mt. Airy
"Jimme Cone" and car shows. The interior is going to
be the next to get some upgrading!.
