1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 I grew up in Euclid and graduated in 1969. My first car was a 1965 Pontiac Catalina with a 389 cubic inch motor. It was my father's car, but it was a real sleeper! The first new car I really wanted was 1970 Chevelle SS 396! But my dad wouldn't sign for it and I ended up with a 1970 Malibu with a 350 cubic inch motor with a 2 barrel carburetor. It was no "396"!!! I have always liked the body style and wanted to go back in time and recapture those moments in the sun! |

I found it at Ray's Auto in Painesville, and Ray had picked it up at the Swap Meet at Canfield Fairgrounds! It had been stashed away in a barn in Florida, where it had been stored for over 14 years. It took 27 years to finally find the car of my dreams and the moment I saw it, I knew that this was the car for me. It has the 396 cubic inches and kicks out 375 Horses and is Red with Black Stripes with a 4 speed transmission and black bench seats. In the last 8 years, I've replaced the valve seals, put in a new 4 speed transmission and had the interior redone. |

wife Bonnie and I love to go to all of the local cruises and check
out all of the Classic and Muscle cars. My brother in law John
and his wife cruise with us in his 1953 Chevy Pro Street with
a blown 454 cubic inch motor.
