Ohio Law HB-2

Just wanted to inform you all of a change in the law for renewing your licenses, plates and stickers. In the past you had the entire month of your birthday to renew your licenses, plates and stickers. A lot of us of whose birthday was at the end of the year, waited until spring to renew our Cruiser and trailer plates. This would save some of the cost.

BUT due to the fact that the powers that make our laws are running in a huge deficit, they changed the law so that you must renew Within 6 ( SIX ) days of your birthday. This was due to the passage of HB-2. They intentionally did not inform anyone so they can attach a $20 late fee to every person with a license in Ohio who doesn't know about the change! (I didn't see any of this on the news or in the paper.) Please inform others so they don’t get caught paying the penalty.
This is not right and we should not be tricked into paying for the State's inability to run a business within a budget, but it is law now!

On the other hand, you can renew your driver’s license and license plates 90 days in advance of your birthday.

So you actually have a 96 day window to renew them.
