On January 22 we sent you a legislative alert with details on a hearing for
H.B.199, scheduled for January 27th in the Ohio House Transportation and
Infrastructure Committee. The hearing was later postponed, and has now
been rescheduled.
H.B.
199 would create a vehicle registration and titling classification for street
rods and custom vehicles and provide for special license plates for these
vehicles. In an effort to keep you updated on this important issue we are

· H.B. 199 provides specific registration/titling classes and license plates
for street rods and customs.
· H.B. 199 includes street rods and customs (including replicas) in the
historical motor vehicle definition for the purpose of holding these vehicles
only to the equipment standards specified by law during the model year listed
on the title of the vehicle.
· H.B. 199 provides that a replica vehicle can be assigned the same model year
designation as the production vehicle it was constructed to resemble.
· H.B. 199 permits street rods and custom vehicles to display blue dot
taillights.
