Altered Gas Performance Events - Summer Schedule

    The Flashlight Drags are returning to the Zelienople Airport six times during the summer of 2005. The kickoff event is scheduled for the Saturday, May 14, 2005. The six events will feature a Car Show, Car Cruise, vendors’ midway, music, food, and fun for the entire family.

    The races start with a flashlight signal, just like early days of rebel drag racing that many know only from old movies. Cars and trucks drag down the 1/8 mile airport runway. The crowd goes wild!

    The event evolved from a simple idea to provide a venue where a hot-rodder or tuner could burn tire and race a buddy, without risking jail time or jeopardizing safety. The goal was to provide the illusion and excitement of street racing with a touch of nostalgic old-school drag racing.

    All vehicles must be street legal, and that means real mufflers! In the event that your vehicle makes too much noise, even though you have mufflers, we will ask you to find a way to quiet your pipes or sit on the sidelines. Sorry, no exceptions.

 

Flashlight Drags Schedule

·         Saturday, May 14            gates open at 2:30, racing from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

·         Saturday, June 18           gates open at 3:00, racing from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

·         Saturday, July 16            gates open at 3:00, racing from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

·         Saturday, August 20       gates open at 2:00, racing from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

·         Saturday, September 17 gates open at 1:30, racing from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

·         Saturday, October 8        gates open at 1:00, racing from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

 

New times for the 05 season – ALL RACING WILL END AT DARK.

The rain date for the Flashlight Drags is the following day, Sunday, at the same time.

 

 

 

 

 

Simple Rules

 

These events are intended for street-cars and trucks only

Mufflers - Required
DOT Tires – Required (No slicks)
Current State Registration - Required
Proof of Insurance - Required
Valid Drivers License - Required
No Passengers
Convertibles - tops up or bring a helmet
Vehicles must be driven in - No Trailers

Burn outs in designated areas only

Driver must wear wristbands on left wrist

Altered Gas Performance Events waiver must be signed

Drivers must attend the drivers’ meeting prior to the start of each event

 

   

 

The Hot Rod Circus makes its return to the A/G schedule two times this summer at the BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, located in Kopple, PA. These events are intended for cars, trucks, and motorcycles. All driving activities are designed to test drivers and their vehicles in speed and skill exercises that will educate and excite drivers and spectators alike. Activities include a Car Show, Car Cruise, Vendor Midway, Food, The Sports Car Championship Series testing and qualifying, Car Games, and Acceleration Runs.

           2:00   --  Hot Rod Circus fun begins

           4:30 – 8:00  --  Acceleration Runs

       Saturday, September 10

           The Hot Rod Circus will join with the Beaver County Car Cruise held at       

            BeaveRun Motorsports Complex to host one of the largest car cruises  

            in the state.

            noon  --  Gates Open

            2:30   --  Hot Rod Circus Car Show

            4:30 – 8:00  --  Acceleration Runs

$5 Spectator donation to benefit the new Emergency Room

at Beaver County Hospital

$25 Racer Fee

 

 

Cycle Circus will be the largest two-day motorcycle event in the region.

Scheduled for June 25 & 26, this event will be at the BeaveRun Motorsports Complex located in Kopple, PA.  This is an opportunity for area riders to use their bikes, not just look at them. Cycle Circus, is intended for all types of motorcycles: old, new, imported, domestic, stock, and custom, and everything in-between.  Activities include two days of motorcycle road racing presented by AHRMA, two days of heads-up Acceleration Demonstrations on the North Circuit, an amazing Bike Show, a spectacular Concourse d’Elegance, Trials Riding competition and demo, Solo-1 demonstrations, and Bike Games on the world class Wilson Circuit at BeaveRun.

The cost for each event is $25 for racing participants and $5 for spectators.
